GO HOME WITHOUT THE HEADACHE
Headache Massage in Calgary NE
Most tension headaches do not actually start in your head — they start in your neck, shoulders, jaw, and the base of your skull. Headache Massage at Maggie's targets all of these areas with focused work designed to ease an active headache and reduce how often they come back. Many clients leave with their headache already gone.
Treating the Source, Not Just the Symptom
Your therapist will spend most of the session on the neck, shoulders, jaw, scalp, and upper back — the places where the muscles that produce headaches actually live. Techniques include focused pressure on trigger points known to refer pain into the head, gentle traction of the neck, and slow, calming work on the temples and scalp. The result is often immediate relief from an active headache, and over time, fewer headaches overall.
BENEFITS
Benefits of Headache Massage
Often Relieves Active Headaches
Many tension headaches respond quickly to targeted work on the neck and jaw. A surprising number of clients walk out without the headache they walked in with.
Reduces How Often Headaches Happen
Working on the underlying muscle patterns means headaches happen less often — not just relief in the moment, but a longer-term pattern shift.
Eases Eye Strain and Jaw Tension
A lot of headache pain originates in clenched jaw and strained eyes. Releasing both areas often helps even when the headache itself is hours later.
A Calmer Nervous System
Many people who get frequent headaches also live with a constantly braced nervous system. The slow, focused work of this session helps reset both.
May Reduce Reliance on Medication
For people who reach for over-the-counter pain relievers regularly, addressing the muscular sources of headaches often means needing medication far less often.
Improves How You Sleep
Tense necks and clenched jaws disturb sleep even when you are not aware of it. Releasing them often translates into deeper rest the same night and easier mornings.
Book Your Headache Massage
Choose a focused 30-minute session for an active headache or a full 60-minute treatment to address the deeper patterns. Same-day appointments often available.

That is up to you. If you usually take something for a headache, it is fine to do so — the massage and the medication can work together. Let your therapist know either way.

For frequent headache sufferers, sessions every 2–3 weeks often produce the biggest shift in pattern. Once headaches are less frequent, monthly maintenance is usually enough.
Yes to both. Stress raises the baseline tension in your neck, shoulders, and jaw — the exact muscles that drive most headaches. Calming both the muscles and the nervous system together is part of why this session is so effective.
