WARMTH THAT REACHES THE MUSCLE
Infrared Sauna in Calgary NE
Infrared sauna feels different from a traditional sauna — the warmth penetrates further into the body rather than just heating the air around you. At Maggie's, our 30-minute infrared sauna sessions are a great recovery option on their own, or a perfect way to prepare your body before a massage.
Deep Heat. Real Recovery.
Infrared light warms your body directly rather than warming the air around you. The result is a comfortable, sustainable heat that reaches deeper into muscle tissue than a traditional sauna and triggers the same beneficial response — sweating, increased circulation, deep relaxation — at a lower ambient temperature. Many clients book the sauna as a standalone session or as a 30-minute primer before their massage.
BENEFITS
Benefits of Infrared Sauna
Recovery and Soreness Relief
Deep heat helps relax tight muscles, ease post-workout soreness, and improve how your body clears the byproducts of hard exercise.
Circulation and Cardiovascular Benefits
A sauna session gently elevates your heart rate and improves circulation, with effects similar to a light cardio workout.
A Reset for the Nervous System
The combination of warmth, quiet, and time away from screens is profoundly calming. Many clients describe leaving in a different mental state than they arrived.
Pairs Beautifully With Massage
Booking the sauna right before your massage warms and softens your muscles, so your therapist can reach deeper tension with less effort.
Supports Skin Clarity
A sustained sweat opens pores and improves circulation through the skin. Many regular sauna users notice clearer, healthier-looking skin within a few weeks.
A Genuinely Affordable Recovery Tool
At $30 for 30 minutes, the sauna is one of the most accessible recovery options we offer. Easy to add to a regular routine, easy to slip into a busy week.
Book Your Infrared Sauna Session
Book on its own or right before a massage. 30 minutes is the standard session, and is enough for a deep, beneficial sweat.

FAQS
Infrared Sauna FAQs at Maggie's Therapeutic Massage
A traditional sauna heats the air around you, which then warms your skin. Infrared light penetrates more directly into your body, producing a similar effect at a lower ambient temperature — it tends to feel more comfortable and easier to sit in for the full session.
Either works, but most clients prefer before. Warmed-up muscles make the massage feel deeper and more effective. After the massage is also fine — just keep hydrating.
Yes, we offer direct billing with Desjardins, Manulife, Johnston Group, Green Shield Canada, Alberta Blue Cross, and more.
Certain heart conditions, pregnancy, and some medications can make sauna use a poor idea. If you have any concerns, check with your doctor first or let us know and we will guide you.
We kindly request that you inform us at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This allows us to accommodate other clients.
Our clinic is located in the northeast of Calgary, at 227 Coventry Close NE.
For most healthy adults, 2–4 sessions per week is a reasonable upper end. Even 1–2 sessions per week produces noticeable benefits. Hydration is the most important factor — drink water before, during, and after.
Yes. Our 30-minute sessions are a comfortable starting point, and you are welcome to step out at any time. Start slowly, hydrate well, and listen to your body — this is recovery, not endurance.
