GENTLE, RHYTHMIC, RESTORATIVE

Lymphatic Drainage Massage in Calgary NE

Lymphatic Drainage Massage at Maggie's uses light, rhythmic strokes to help your body move lymph fluid the way it's meant to. The pressure is so light it can feel surprising — but the effect on swelling, recovery, and how your body clears waste is anything but subtle.

A Different Kind of Massage

Lymphatic Drainage is not a deep tissue massage with a softer touch — it is a specific technique with a different goal. Your lymphatic system clears waste, fluid, and immune debris from your tissues, but it has no pump of its own. Gentle, directional strokes follow the path of your lymph vessels to encourage flow, reduce swelling, and support healing. Maggie's RMTs apply this work after surgery, during illness recovery, during pregnancy-related swelling, or whenever your body needs help draining and resetting.

BENEFITS

Benefits of Lymphatic Drainage Massage

Reduced Swelling and Puffiness

Whether the cause is post-surgical edema, fluid retention from travel, or hormonal puffiness, gentle directional strokes help your body move trapped fluid out of the tissues.

Supports Immune Function

Your lymphatic system is central to immune health. Improving its flow helps clear waste, supports white blood cell movement, and can leave you feeling lighter and more resilient.

Post-Surgical and Post-Injury Recovery

After surgery or significant injury, fluid pools where you need circulation most. Lymphatic drainage helps shorten recovery time, reduce bruising, and improve how scar tissue heals.

Calm, Relaxing Experience

The light, repetitive strokes are deeply soothing. Many clients describe it as the most relaxing massage they have ever had, often falling asleep partway through.

Helps With Chronic Sinus and Allergy Congestion

Specific drainage techniques around the face and neck can help clear sinus congestion that has settled in for days, especially during allergy season or after a cold.

A Treatment You Can Repeat Often

Because the work is so gentle, lymphatic drainage can be done frequently without strain on the body. Many post-surgical clients book several sessions in a row to support healing.

OUR TEAM

Meet Maggie's Team Of RMTs

Maggie and her team bring warmth, experience, and intention to every massage. Their approach isn’t about routine techniques — they track patterns of tension in your body, noticing where stress builds up over time. FAQS

Lymphatic Drainage Massage FAQs at Maggie's Therapeutic Massage

Lymph vessels sit just beneath your skin, not deep in the muscle. Heavier pressure actually closes them and prevents flow. Light, directional strokes are what move lymph — counter-intuitive, but it's how the technique works.

Once your surgeon has cleared you for massage, lymphatic drainage is one of the most helpful modalities for post-op recovery. Always confirm with your surgeon first, and let your therapist know exactly what procedure you had.

Yes, we offer direct billing with Desjardins, Manulife, Johnston Group, Green Shield Canada, Alberta Blue Cross, and more.

Yes. Many people book lymphatic drainage when they feel puffy, congested, or run down. By improving how your body clears waste fluid, it often leaves you feeling noticeably lighter for several days.

We kindly request that you inform us at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This allows us to accommodate other clients.

Our clinic is located in the northeast of Calgary, at 227 Coventry Close NE.

For general wellness, a single session brings noticeable relief. For post-surgical recovery or chronic swelling, a series of 4–10 sessions spaced close together typically works best. Your therapist will recommend what fits your situation.

Drink water before and after, and skip heavy meals right before. Wear something loose afterward so you do not constrict the areas we have worked on. Other than that — just arrive ready to relax.

Why Maggie's for Lymphatic Drainage in Calgary?
