LIFT THE FASCIA. RELEASE THE TENSION.
Myofascial Cupping in Calgary NE
Where most massage presses down into the body, cupping lifts. Silicone or glass cups create gentle suction that decompresses the tissue underneath — separating fascial layers, increasing blood flow, and releasing tension that pressing alone cannot reach. At Maggie's, myofascial cupping is part of our toolbox for stubborn tension and restricted movement.
A Different Direction
Cupping works by suction rather than pressure. Your therapist places cups on areas of restriction and either holds them in place or glides them along the muscle. The negative pressure lifts skin and fascia gently away from the muscle below, encouraging blood flow into the area and giving stuck tissues space to release. It feels different from any other massage — slightly drawing, deeply releasing — and many clients become fans after one session.
BENEFITS
Benefits of Myofascial Cupping
Releases Stuck Fascia
Fascia — the connective tissue surrounding your muscles — can adhere and restrict movement. Suction lifts and separates the layers, restoring glide and release.
Improved Circulation
The suction draws fresh blood to the area, accelerating tissue repair and helping clear out metabolic waste from overworked muscles.
Reaches What Pressure Cannot
Some restrictions simply do not respond to downward pressure. The opposite force of suction often releases them quickly.
Great for Active Recovery
Many athletes use cupping between training sessions to flush tired muscles and keep fascia mobile. It pairs especially well with deep tissue work.
Settles Long-Held Tension
Restrictions that have been stuck for years often respond to cupping when nothing else has touched them. The lift and decompression open up tissue that has gone quiet under pressure.
A Distinctive, Memorable Sensation
Cupping feels unlike any other massage modality. Most clients are surprised by how relaxing and effective it is — and end up booking it again.
