RECOVER FASTER. MOVE BETTER. STAY IN THE GAME.
Sports Massage in Calgary NE
Whether you're training for a race, recovering from a hard session, or just trying to stay healthy through a long season, Sports Massage at Maggie's focuses on the muscles your sport actually uses. Our RMTs combine deep tissue work, focused stretching, and trigger point release to help you recover faster, move more freely, and prevent the small problems that turn into time off training.
Built for Athletes and Active Lifestyles
Sports Massage isn't a single technique — it's a focused approach to keeping you moving. At Maggie's, our RMTs read where your body holds tension from training, then blend the modalities that fit: deep tissue for hard-worked muscles, passive stretching to restore range, and trigger point release for stubborn knots. Every session is shaped by your sport, your training cycle, and whatever is bothering you that day.
BENEFITS
Benefits of Sports Massage
Faster Recovery
Targeted work on the muscles you trained hard clears soreness, restores circulation, and shortens how long you spend feeling beat up between sessions.
Injury Prevention
Tight spots and imbalances usually build silently before they cause an injury. Regular sports massage catches these patterns early so they do not turn into weeks off.
Better Range of Motion
Passive stretching and focused soft-tissue work restore length to overworked muscles, so you can hit the positions your sport demands without compensating.
Improved Performance
Looser muscles and joints that move freely translate into better stride mechanics, stronger swings, easier breathing, and more efficient power transfer.
Therapists Who Understand Training
Our RMTs work with active people every week. They understand training cycles, common imbalances by sport, and how to time massage so it supports your goals rather than getting in the way.
Mental Reset Between Hard Efforts
Recovery is not just physical. Spending an hour completely off your feet and out of your head between hard sessions resets focus and helps you show up sharper for the next workout.

FAQS
Sports Massage FAQs at Maggie's Therapeutic Massage
Both can be intense, but Sports Massage is shaped by your sport. Your therapist focuses on the muscles you use most, includes stretching specific to your movement patterns, and adjusts pressure based on whether you have a competition coming up.
Heavier work is best 3–7 days out so any post-massage soreness has time to clear. A lighter flush session 24–48 hours before is fine for most people. After an event, wait until any acute swelling has settled — usually 24–72 hours.
Yes, we offer direct billing with Desjardins, Manulife, Johnston Group, Green Shield Canada, Alberta Blue Cross, and more.
Some pressure is firm, especially on knots and overworked muscles, but it should never be unbearable. Always tell your therapist if anything is too much — we adjust to your tolerance, not the other way around.
We kindly request that you inform us at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This allows us to accommodate other clients.
Our clinic is located in the northeast of Calgary, at 227 Coventry Close NE.
Most active people do well with a session every 2–4 weeks during heavy training, and monthly maintenance during easier periods. We will help you find a cadence that fits your schedule and your training load.
Drink water, eat normally, and avoid scheduling your hardest workout for the same day. A light walk, gentle stretch, or easy ride is great. Save intense efforts for 24–48 hours later when the work has fully settled.
